Lab Specimen Processor-Full-time Evenings
About The Position
The Lab Specimen Processor reflects Northwestern Medicine’s mission, vision, and values, adheres to its Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory and accreditation standards. The processor is responsible for receiving, processing, labeling, and distributing specimens, as well as performing non-high-complexity testing as required. The role requires a thorough understanding of laboratory specimens and HIS/LIS computer systems. Customer service and other clerical duties are also performed as needed. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, second-shift position at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Maintain organization while multitasking.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Thorough understanding of laboratory specimens and HIS/LIS computer systems.
Responsibilities
- Receive, process, label, and distribute specimens.
- Perform non-high-complexity testing as required.
- Perform customer service duties and other clerical duties as needed.
- Follow applicable organizational policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory and accreditation standards.
