About The Position

Elliott-Lewis Corporation is seeking an experienced Lab Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day operations of the lab and the maintenance on-site staff at a facility in South Philadelphia. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure laboratory systems and equipment operate safely and efficiently. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience maintaining and repairing laboratory equipment or similar technical equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience reading equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and testing equipment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with laboratory staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience servicing laboratory analyzers, environmental testing equipment, or scientific instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and OSHA regulations.
  • Experience working in a commercial, industrial, or research laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment issues and implement effective repairs.
  • Ability to operate and functionally use a computer along with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Safely operate and maintain power tools.
  • Calibrate, test, and verify equipment performance to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Respond promptly to equipment service requests to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and service documentation.
  • Coordinate with laboratory personnel and equipment vendors regarding repairs and maintenance schedules.
  • Install, relocate, and assist with the commissioning of laboratory equipment as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of replacement parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA, company safety policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
