About The Position
Riverchase Dermatology, an AQUA Dermatology portfolio practice, is the southeast largest and most comprehensive full-service skin care provider, offering medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, plastic surgery, vein care and radiation oncology. The ideal Lab Gross Assistant candidate is positive, energetic, intelligent, highly dependable, organized, and can multi-task. The Lab Gross Assistant is responsible for preparing and grossing specimens for further analysis, which is essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Requirements
- Able to adhere to lab protocol and standards.
- Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
- Proficient communication skills (written and verbal).
- Experience in a laboratory setting or relevant coursework in biological sciences.
Responsibilities
- Receive and log specimens into the laboratory information system.
- Work closely with pathologists and laboratory technicians to maintain high standards of quality and safety in specimen handling.
- Prepare specimens for gross examination by following established protocols.
- Assist pathologists in the grossing process, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety regulations.
- Participate in quality control measures and assist in the training of new staff.
