About The Position

The Lab Foreman supervises laboratory functions and staff during a factory shift and performs Lab Benchperson duties as needed. The role conducts routine analyses and special tests as requested by the Factory Chemist and others; troubleshoots errors or questions in analyses; and oversees sugar and by-product analyses, reporting results, and maintaining accurate records. The Lab Foreman also ensures routine solutions are properly prepared and standardized and assists factory operations with analyzing and troubleshooting process problems.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED certificate.
One year of general college chemistry.
Take a Mechanical Aptitude Test and Basic Skills Test to verify basic skills and knowledge.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Supervise laboratory functions and staff during the factory shift.
Perform Lab Benchperson duties as needed.
Analyze samples and conduct routine analyses and special tests as required by the Factory Chemist and others.
Troubleshoot problems when errors or questions arise in analyses.
Conduct sugar and by-product analyses, report results, and maintain accurate records.
Ensure routine solutions are correctly prepared and standardized.
Assist factory operations in analyzing and troubleshooting process problems.
