About The Position

Clean Harbors is hiring a Lab Chemist to support its chemical disposal operation at its Cleveland, Ohio facility. The role prepares samples and analyzes them to determine their chemical and physical properties. The scheduled shift is Thursday through Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with overtime as needed. Training is scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with overtime as needed. The pay rate is $23–$29 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or physical science.
1–5 years of hands-on laboratory experience with wet chemistry testing methods.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with people from varied educational and technical backgrounds.
Ability to work in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Ability to set up and conduct chemical experiments or tests such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and titrations.

Analyze samples according to prescribed procedures and resolve minor problems.
Calibrate and use laboratory instrumentation.

Complete analysis-related paperwork neatly and promptly.
Ensure work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines.
Manage supplies in the assigned area, including maintaining proper housekeeping and following best management practices.
Properly manage waste generated by analytical procedures.
