About The Position

Clean Harbors is seeking a safety-minded Lab Chemist I in El Dorado, Arkansas. The role analyzes facility samples to determine chemical and physical properties using chromatography, spectroscopy, and other analytical laboratory techniques. The chemist documents and logs results, maintains and troubleshoots equipment, manages waste from analytical procedures, and helps maintain a safe, orderly laboratory environment in compliance with applicable SOPs and OSHA regulations. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related science is preferred.
Two or more years of prior experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.
Knowledge of operating GC, IC, and ICP instrumentation.
Wet chemistry experience; the posting references two years of wet chemistry experience.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Computer proficiency.
Ability to accurately document, record, and analyze data and information.
Safety-minded team player.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Analyze facility samples using GC, IC, ICP, and other analytical laboratory instruments.
Determine chemical and physical properties of samples using chromatography and spectroscopy techniques.
Accurately document, record, log, and analyze data and results.
Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
Properly manage waste generated by analytical procedures.
Maintain a safe working environment and comply with applicable SOPs, OSHA regulations, and company safety practices.
Maintain proper housekeeping.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
