About The Position

Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is hiring for a full-time phlebotomy position. The Lab Associate performs specimen collection, handling, and clerical duties, and is experienced in phlebotomy and proficient in additional tasks such as central processing, in-office phlebotomy, or inventory management. The hospital’s full-service, CAP-certified laboratory operates 24/7 and performs a range of testing, provides blood bank services, and has an outpatient drawing room. The role may be based in the outpatient lab, a physician office, or an off-campus patient service center. Shifts vary across days, evenings, and nights, with a Monday-through-Friday schedule and rotating holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Less than 2 years of experience.
• No supervisor experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Phlebotomy certification.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree.
• 2–5 years of experience.
• Less than 2 years of supervisor experience.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physician orders and enter tests into the appropriate system.
• Perform phlebotomy, verify patient identity, interact positively with patients, and ensure proper collection and specimen integrity.
• Sort and process specimens received by the laboratory and handle them proficiently.
• Coordinate simultaneous tasks accurately, including STAT orders and workload fluctuations, prioritizing work to meet scheduled hours and turnaround times.
• May perform registration, inventory maintenance, and other assigned duties.
