About The Position

Join Our Team at BJC HealthCare: Full-Time Lab Associate I – Phlebotomy (Inpatient) at Missouri Baptist Medical Center. This role involves performing non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing, and clerical duties associated with specimen collection. The Clinical Laboratory at Missouri Baptist Medical Center is committed to improving the health and wellness of patients through expertise in laboratory medicine and strong customer service, performing over 1 million tests annually with a focus on accurate and timely results. The laboratory is fully accredited by CAP, JCAHO, and AABB.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Phlebotomy experience (preferred)

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy experience (highly preferred)
• Experienced expert with blood draw
• Background as a Phlebotomist, Lab Technician, Lab Associate, or in Laboratory Blood Draw
• Experience in Phlebotomist, Lab Technician, Lab Associate, Laboratory, Blood draw
• <2 years experience
• < 2 years supervisor experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Phlebotomy certification

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity.
• Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
• Interacts with lab, clinical and other ancillary departments.
