About The Position

This full-time, 3rd shift Lab Assistant position is responsible for accurate and timely data entry of patient data using key software systems. The role also involves specimen processing, receiving and sorting specimens, and accurately tracking them. The Lab Assistant will perform data entry of orders into the Laboratory computer system, handle department clerical duties, and participate in Quality activities to ensure excellent customer service.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of related experience in a health care setting.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
Customer service skills.
Ability to interact effectively and communicate proficiently.
Data entry skills.
Competent in the use of keyboard, telephone and filing.
Typing and keyboard skills: Minimum 5000 keystrokes per hour (alpha, numeric) with 90 percent accuracy.
Must be able to work weekends/holidays.
