Lab Assistant (Data Entry / Processing) - San Antonio, Texas
About The Position
The Lab Assistant supports the patient care process by ensuring laboratory specimens are properly processed, prepared, routed, and stored. The role also involves entering patient, client, billing, and test information into the Laboratory Information System, recognizing when corrective action is needed, and implementing effective solutions. The position works in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and personal protective equipment requirements, and champions safety, compliance, and quality control. This part-time, benefit-eligible role is located in San Antonio, Texas. The schedule is Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays, subject to change, and hours vary between 4:00 PM and 1:00 AM, subject to change. The position has routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI); employees must maintain strict confidentiality, follow applicable privacy and security standards, and access PHI only as required for their duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing.
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms.

- 1–2 years of related experience in a clinical laboratory, data entry, or production.
