About The Position
The Laboratory Assistant Phlebotomist obtains blood samples, transports samples for medical testing, and processes specimens according to established protocols and procedures. The role works with the team to support comprehensive, compassionate patient care. This position is based at MultiCare Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Washington, and is scheduled for nights with varied hours, rotating days, and regular weekend coverage.
Requirements
- Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist Certification (MA-P), or eligibility for Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist certification.

- Experience in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures professionally and skillfully at various sites, and explain the procedure to patients.
- Collect draws in a timely manner and periodically check pending workload lists to ensure specimen accountability.
- Accurately label patient samples according to hospital policy.
- Transport samples for medical testing and process specimens according to protocols and procedures.
