About The Position
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is seeking a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist to work at the Bolivar Family Care Center in Bolivar, Missouri. The role collaborates with other team members to collect and process samples used in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. It also includes patient-facing, reception, and laboratory upkeep duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Friends and Family CPR within six months of employment.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds, with or without assistance.
- Ability to perform duties requiring good vision and hand coordination.
Nice To Haves
- One to three months of on-the-job phlebotomy training.
- One year or more of experience, including working with adults, pediatric patients, infants, and geriatric patients.
Responsibilities
- Verify patients’ identities and accurately enter information into the computer system.
- Explain the sample collection process to patients and answer their questions.
- Follow safe hygiene rules and chain-of-custody protocols.
- Perform receptionist duties, including greeting and directing patients and filing as needed.
- Complete cleaning, stocking, and sanitation tasks according to standard regulations.
