About The Position
The Laboratory Assistant Phlebotomist obtains blood samples, transports samples for medical testing, and processes specimens according to established protocols and procedures. The role works with the team to provide comprehensive, compassionate patient care. The position is 1.0 FTE on the day shift, primarily Monday through Friday, with one Saturday or Sunday per month.
Requirements
- Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist Certification (MA-P), or eligibility for Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist certification.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures professionally and skillfully at various sites, and explain the procedure to patients.
- Collect draws in a timely manner and periodically check pending workload lists to ensure specimen accountability.
- Accurately label patient samples according to hospital policy.
- Transport samples for medical testing and process specimens according to protocols and procedures.
