About The Position

The Lab Assistant III is responsible for specimen processing and the analysis, evaluation, and reporting of waived and moderately complex laboratory test results. Work must follow established departmental procedures and professional standards to ensure appropriate specimens and accurate data are provided in a timely manner. This position is in the Central Laboratory – Microbiology in Hammond, Indiana, and works 40 hours per week from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with a weekend and/or holiday rotation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background in medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology required.

Nice To Haves

• Twelve (12) to eighteen (18) months of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens.
• Analyze, evaluate, and report waived and moderately complex laboratory test results in accordance with established departmental procedures and professional standards.
• Provide appropriate specimens and accurate data in a timely manner.
