About The Position

Under the general direction of the Laboratory Manager, this role performs clerical functions, specimen collection, specimen processing, and EKG procedures. The Lab Assistant II also performs waived testing and Quality Control.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required
• Completion of a phlebotomy course or an accredited medical assistant course; or 6 months laboratory experience and certification as a Health Care Assistant
• Training in proper phlebotomy techniques required
• Requires Washington State DOH Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist credential within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

• Training and/or experience in clinical laboratory preferred
• Certification in phlebotomy skills preferred
