Lab Assistant I
About The Position
Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Lab Assistant I to provide a wide variety of support for an assigned laboratory department. The position is in San Antonio, Texas, with a Monday-to-Friday schedule from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The pay range starts at $17.20 per hour; an employee may be eligible for a shift differential of 10% for some or all hours on second shift and 15% for some or all hours on third shift. Salary offers take into account factors such as skills, training, experience, education, and applicable certifications, as well as market and organizational factors. Eligible candidates may also receive annual performance bonus compensation. The role includes handling and sorting samples, supporting laboratory supplies and inventory, directing phone calls, managing the specimen library within established time frames, and performing waived tests under supervision. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities
- Provides a wide variety of support for the assigned lab department.
- Picks up samples from accessioning and sorts them into appropriate racks.
- Answers phone calls and directs them appropriately.
- Unpacks and stores reagents and supplies.
- Inventories and orders warehouse supply items.
- Sorts samples and distributes them to the appropriate setup hood.
- Manages the specimen library within established time frames.
- Performs waived tests under supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
