About The Position

Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Lab Assistant I for its microbiology laboratory in Royal Oak, Michigan. The role provides a wide variety of support to the assigned laboratory department, including sample handling, supply management, phone support, specimen library management, and performing waived tests under supervision. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with rotational weekend work. Employees may be eligible for a shift differential for some or all hours worked on second or third shift; additional details are provided if an offer is extended.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Provide a wide variety of support for the assigned laboratory department.
Pick up samples from accessioning and sort them into appropriate racks.
Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately.
Unpack and store reagents and supplies.
Inventory and order warehouse supply items.
Sort samples and distribute them to the appropriate setup hood.
Manage the specimen library within established time frames.
Perform waived tests under supervision.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
