About The Position

Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Lab Assistant I to provide a wide variety of support for an assigned microbiology laboratory department. The position is based in Royal Oak, Michigan, and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with rotational weekend work. The employee may be eligible for a shift differential of 10% for some or all second-shift hours; further details would be provided if an offer is extended. The role includes handling and sorting samples, supporting laboratory operations and inventory, and performing waived tests under supervision. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Provide a wide variety of support for the assigned laboratory department.
Pick up samples from accessioning and sort them into appropriate racks.
Answer the phone and direct calls appropriately.
Unpack and store reagents and supplies.
Inventory and order warehouse supply items.
Sort samples and distribute them to the appropriate setup hood.
Manage the specimen library within established time frames.
Perform waived tests under supervision.
Perform other duties as assigned.
