About The Position

New River Valley Community Services’ KPACT Program is seeking a part-time KPACT Youth Mentor. KPACT provides community-based, direct services to children and adolescents who are at risk of out-of-home placement. Youth Mentors work with a team of clinicians, mentors, and peers to connect clients with their community and needed resources. They also support clients as they improve social skills, develop healthy and appropriate coping mechanisms, and build positive family and social relationships.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in human services or a related field.
• At least one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental health needs, and/or substance abuse.
• Experience working with adults, children, and families.
• Speaking multiple languages; additional compensation will be considered.

Responsibilities
