About The Position

Lowenstein Sandler is seeking a Knowledge Management Coordinator to join a growing Knowledge and Research Services (KRS) Department. As part of a forward-thinking team at the intersection of legal practice and innovation, you will collaborate with senior KRS staff and attorneys to advance the firm's knowledge-sharing, legal technology, and AI-driven initiatives under our Vision 2030 strategy. This role offers hands-on exposure to generative AI tools, enterprise knowledge systems, and a high-performing national law firm — making it an ideal launchpad for a career in legal technology, knowledge management, or law firm operations.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based collaboration tools required.
  • You write and speak clearly and precisely.
  • You adjust your communication style for different audiences — attorneys, peers, and firm leadership — and you can translate technical concepts into accessible guidance that engages users.
  • You approach challenges with curiosity and analytical rigor.
  • You look for ways to improve how things work, not just maintain the status quo.
  • You manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously without dropping the ball and you follow through on commitments reliably.
  • You understand priorities, meet deadlines, and catch the details that matter.
  • You don't wait to be told what to do. You anticipate needs, flag issues early, and take ownership of your work.
  • You're adaptable in a fast-moving environment and willing to go the extra mile when the team needs it.
  • You have hands-on experience using generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or similar) and can speak to what you've built, tested, or learned with them.
  • You understand the basics of prompt design, model limitations, and responsible AI use — and you're excited to go deeper.
  • You've actively pursued learning in AI and/or the legal industry — through coursework, certifications, independent projects, internships, blogs, podcasts, conferences, or self-directed exploration.
  • You can articulate what draws you to the intersection of law and technology, and you stay current on developments in both.
  • You pick up new applications, systems, and platforms quickly.
  • You don't wait for instructions — you explore, experiment, and figure things out.

Nice To Haves

  • Backgrounds in law, public policy, information science, technology, economics, history, or international relations — as demonstrated through coursework, extracurricular involvement, or prior work experience.
  • Prior experience in a law firm, legal tech, or technology environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, document management systems, or legal tech is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Test and evaluate AI tools and platforms — assessing accuracy, output quality, workflow fit, and risk considerations — and document findings for the KRS team and firm leadership.
  • Support the development and maintenance of AI training materials, prompt libraries, and user guidance for legal technology tools.
  • Assist attorneys and staff in understanding how to apply AI tools effectively and responsibly within their practice workflows.
  • Stay current on emerging AI developments relevant to legal practice and contribute observations and recommendations to the team.
  • Develop and maintain practice resources including SharePoint-based sites, client-facing portals, and work product libraries.
  • Continuously improve the design and usability of knowledge resources, including suggesting site architecture, navigation, and UX enhancements informed by user feedback.
  • Develop a working understanding of firm systems — including business intake, matter experience tracking, and document management — to support efficient information retrieval and compliance.
  • Gain exposure to project management and support end-to-end innovative technology initiatives in a law firm setting.
  • Assist with broader KRS and firm innovation projects as directed by team leadership.
  • Develop and maintain the firm's knowledge infrastructure — practice sites, work product libraries, and attorney-facing portals — that lawyers rely on daily.
  • Actively test, evaluate, and help integrate generative AI platforms (such as Harvey, Microsoft Copilot, and others) into legal workflows — contributing real input to the firm's AI strategy.
  • Coordinate training sessions and guide attorneys and staff on knowledge management tools — becoming a go-to resource for how the firm learns new technology.
  • Work alongside lawyers and business professionals across practice groups, gaining exposure to legal processes, terminology, and the documents that drive sophisticated transactions and litigation.
  • Partner with attorneys and vendors to troubleshoot technical issues and improve workflows — seeing the immediate impact of your work.
