About The Position

The Knockout Operator performs knockout and cutoff duties, follows required procedures, and operates equipment efficiently. The operator will be trained in rough knockout, cutoff, HTG, and snag. This role checks casting identification, removes molds using knockout equipment and methods, cuts off castings, trims excess gating, inspects work for obvious defects, and records work performed. The operator is also responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work area and a positive working atmosphere.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work flexible hours and a history of dependability demonstrated by a strong attendance record.
Strong sense of urgency and ability to work independently.
Ability to balance multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
Comfort working with a team approach to problem solving.

Nice To Haves

Previous knockout experience.
One to three years of industrial supervisory or similar leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Perform all assigned knockout and cutoff duties and procedures and operate equipment efficiently.
Train in and perform rough knockout, cutoff, HTG, and snag work.
Check tags for proper identification.
Knock out molds using an automatic air hammer, by hand, or with a water blast.
Start the routing card process.
Cut off castings and trim excess gating.
Lift and dump 55-gallon barrels containing molds.
Visually inspect work for obvious defects.
Record all work performed each day using operational codes.
Keep the work area clean, orderly, and safe, and follow all safety rules.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere through constructive interactions with customers, clients, coworkers, and supervisors.
Perform other duties designated by the supervisor and any additional responsibilities assigned.
