Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Performs general physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, moving whole body and multilimbed coordination

  • 1 to 3 Years Manufacturing Experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operates, lubricates, cleans, and inspects knives for proper operation daily.
  • Color code inner and outer knives to ensure proper placement inside strander.
  • Notifies Maintenance Department and/or Production Supervisor/Manager if deficiencies are noted.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area.
  • Stacks knives and knife clamps with new scoring tips on knife carts.
  • Offloads dull knives and knife clamps from knife carts and places in preparation area.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by developing, maintaining and applying thorough knowledge of operating guidelines.
  • Replaces broken scoring tips in knife clamp as needed. Always ensuring that there are spare clamps with new tips ready for installation.
  • Ensures proper projection and angles are monitored for optimal flake thickness.
  • Changes knives and clamps as needed.
  • Maintains inventory of knives and materials/supplies in knife room.
  • Maintains a record on material usage of knife operations.
  • Ensures enough supplies are on hand to do job and makes recommendation to supervisor on reordering supplies.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.
