About The Position

The Kitting Lead coordinates daily kitting operations to ensure customer orders are assembled accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, the role assigns and monitors work, guides and supports Kitting Associates, and serves as the primary quality checkpoint before completed kits are released for shipment. The Kitting Lead also troubleshoots operational issues, coordinates rework, communicates material shortages and production status, and supports training and continuous improvement while promoting a safe, organized, and productive work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Two or more years of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or kitting experience.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience serving as a lead, trainer, or subject matter expert.
• Experience using warehouse management systems and RF scanners.
• Forklift experience.
• Experience interpreting bills of material, work instructions, and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritize daily kitting activities based on production schedules and customer requirements.
• Assign daily work to Kitting Associates based on workload, priorities, and staffing levels.
• Monitor workflow throughout the shift to support productivity and on-time completion of customer orders.
• Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and technical support to Kitting Associates.
• Perform final quality verification of completed kits, including component accuracy, quantities, labeling, and packaging.
• Identify quality concerns and coordinate corrective actions before products are released.
• Investigate kitting errors and lead rework activities to resolve discrepancies.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate concerns to the Warehouse Manager when appropriate.
• Assist with training and onboarding new Kitting Associates on work instructions, quality expectations, and standard operating procedures.
• Monitor inventory availability and communicate material shortages or supply concerns to warehouse leadership.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records as required.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitting work area.
• Operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts after required training, as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow, quality, and efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day operational questions within the kitting area.
• Communicate production status, staffing needs, and operational concerns to the Warehouse Manager.
• Promote teamwork and accountability while fostering a positive work environment.
• Assist in identifying training opportunities and reinforcing quality and safety expectations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
