About The Position
This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and back-of-house areas. Key duties include garbage removal, dishwashing, floor sanitation, and equipment cleaning. The Kitchen Utility person will also assist with food transportation, receiving, and replenishing supplies for service staff. Adherence to uniform standards and company policies is required, with specific attention to Indiana Labor Laws for minor employees.
Requirements
- Ability to handle chemicals as per company video.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Understand and comply with all Company and departmental rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain general kitchen and back-of-house cleanliness.
- Remove all garbage and boxes.
- Perform dishwashing and pot washing.
- Sanitize floors.
- Perform cleaning maintenance on all kitchen equipment and return items to their proper place.
- Follow directions from the lead kitchen utility/executive kitchen steward.
- Transport food from ship to shore and vice versa.
- Assist receiving in putting food products away.
- Assist buffet attendants and servers in replenishing clean dishes and silverware.
- Wear appropriate uniform: white shirt & pants, apron, GVC ball cap or hair net, slip resistant shoes, name badge, and gaming badge.
- Adhere to all Indiana Labor Laws if a minor.
