About The Position

Performs washing, general cleaning, and storage functions within the Food and Nutrition Service department. This role is crucial for maintaining a clean and organized environment, supporting the overall operations of the hospital's food services. The position is part of Driscoll Health System, a non-profit community-based organization dedicated to providing exceptional care to children across 31 South Texas counties.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.
Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.

Responsibilities

Starts the dish machine, fills all tanks, and ensures proper operation of the equipment.
Cleans the dish machine as assigned, including de-liming for hard water.
Follows proper procedures for washing dishes in the machine or a three-compartment sink, including correct scraping, cleaning solutions, and rack usage.
Handles equipment (dishes, pots/pans, etc.) with caution to prevent damage and breakage.
Returns all clean dishes to their proper locations after cleaning.
Cleans all floors and heavy equipment used in the department.
Assists Warehouseman with storage and stocking of food and supplies as needed.
Ensures all trash in the department is collected and taken to the proper location.
Attends all department and hospital in-services as required.
Performs special cleaning and other duties as assigned.
