Join the Hoffman Institute Foundation at our tranquil retreat site in San Rafael as a Kitchen Steward. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for a range of kitchen duties including dishwashing, food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and managing inventory. Your efforts will ensure an organized and efficiently running kitchen that supports our mission of providing transformative retreat experiences. The Hoffman Institute Foundation offers retreat programs designed to foster personal growth and healing. Requirements
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, with flexibility in work hours to meet retreat schedules.

Nice To Haves
- Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring they are sanitized and ready for use.
- Assist with preparing ingredients, including chopping fruits and vegetables, mixing ingredients, and portioning food.
- Maintain an orderly kitchen by organizing supplies, cleaning surfaces, and ensuring proper storage of food items.
- Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, assist with ordering supplies, and ensure proper rotation of stock.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure kitchen cleanliness and sanitation, including handling waste and managing compost and recyclables.
- Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment and assist with minor repairs or maintenance as needed.
- Assist in setting up for events or meals, and provide support during meal service to ensure smooth operations.
