Kitchen Prep-Food Service Worker
About The Position
Grinnell College is seeking a Kitchen Prep-Food Service Worker for a full-time position. This role offers competitive pay, flexible scheduling, and great benefits. Responsibilities include replenishing, maintaining, and cleaning food venues, preparing student orders, refilling beverage dispensers and ice cream machines, assisting the dish room, cleaning dining facilities, collecting and disposing of garbage and recycling, refilling dispensers, and stocking food and supply orders. The position also offers the opportunity to interact with the diverse student population of Grinnell College.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Nice To Haves
- Six months or more experience in commercial food services or an equivalent combination of education, training and expertise
- Serve Safe Certificate
Responsibilities
- Replenishing, maintaining and cleaning food venues.
- Preparing student orders at a Marketplace venue under the direction of a culinary staff member.
- Refilling beverage dispensers with milk or juices and/or the ice cream machine.
- Assisting the dish room during busy times.
- Cleaning of all Dining Services facilities.
- Collection and disposal of garbage and recycling from all areas of Dining.
- Refilling paper towel, sanitizer and soap dispensers and completing other custodial jobs as directed.
- Assisting with work in the dish room of the dining services.
- Picking, delivering and stocking food and supply orders for dining departments.
