About The Position

Tigg's Canteen Services is hiring a permanent, full-time Kitchen Manager at the DeKalb County Jail in Auburn, Indiana. The Kitchen Manager helps oversee and support daily food service operations in a structured correctional environment, including leading inmate kitchen workers and assisting with food preparation and kitchen upkeep. The starting pay is $22.00 per hour. Previous food service or kitchen experience is a plus but is not required; training is available.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Flexibility to work varying days and hours between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
• Ability to successfully obtain clearance to enter the facility.
• Ability to read and follow company recipes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Leadership and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and take direction.
• Positive, can-do attitude, strong character, and integrity.
• Ability to work well in a structured environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous food service or kitchen experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and instruct inmate workers in the kitchen.
• Assist with daily meal preparation.
• Prepare, bake, and cook food.
