About The Position

Cresco Labs is seeking a Kitchen Lead for the 2nd shift to join their team. This role involves assisting kitchen agents with daily production using commercial machinery for various products like gummies, chocolate, fruit chews, coated chocolate "cores", and tablets. The Kitchen Lead will also be responsible for employee onboarding, performance management, coaching, and supervision, ensuring strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing formulas. A key aspect of this role is maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment, ensuring quality objectives are met through GMP adherence, sanitation audits, food safety checks, and product quality checks. The lead will also develop production plans, manage inventory, oversee new product and personnel implementation, and recommend efficiency improvements.

Requirements

  • 2+ years preferred in food or confectionary processing/manufacturing.
  • Experience in training, leading and/or mentoring staff or new hires preferred.
  • Demonstrates an adequate understanding of production machinery; equipment; processing; blending; extraction; shelf-stable products, quality, and/or other requisite technical knowledge
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of SOPs, GMP, GDP and other company policies
  • Demonstrates knowledge of production, pack out, and inventory control procedures/concepts
  • Requires work around plant material, which could include exposure to plant pollen and/or dust.
  • Requires ability to sit, stand, kneel, and/or do repetitive actions with your hands for long periods of time.
  • Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs to torso level.

Responsibilities

  • Assist kitchen agents with daily production & using commercial machinery including: Gummies, Chocolate, Fruit chews, Coated chocolate “cores”, Tablets, Metal detection
  • Actively participates in employee on-boarding, performance management and provides coaching/corrective actions regularly
  • Supervises kitchen agents by providing motivation, training and development
  • Enforces strict compliance to standard operating procedures and manufacturing formulas
  • Always maintains a safe and sanitary work environment
  • Ensures quality objectives are met including regular adherence to GMPs, performance of sanitation audits, food safety checks and product quality checks
  • Monitors manufacturing and implements corrective action planning when needed to meet company objectives
  • Develop production plans to maintain inventory levels as determined by sales and operations demand
  • Ensures proper weekly inventory, logging and storage of all materials and packaging
  • Oversees implementation and training for new products, equipment, and personnel
  • Recommendations and implement efficiency improvements
