About The Position
National Star Services, a 27-year-old facility management company with nationwide services, is seeking Kitchen Helpers for their Des Plaines, IL 60018 location. This role involves being part of a team that creates high-end products for international airline guests. Responsibilities include assisting chefs and cooks with food preparation, cutting fruits and vegetables, preparing small dishes, food plating, and setting up airline catering trays. The position requires reading and following menu specifications, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and adhering to hygiene, quality, and safety standards.
Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
- Must be authorized to lawfully work in the US.
- Must have two updated valid forms of IDs.
- Need to have and wear Slip Resistant shoes at work.
- A Background check and Drug test will be conducted.
- Must have own transportation to get to and from work.
- Must be able to start working as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with different tasks in the kitchen: food preparation, cutting fruits and vegetables, preparing small dishes, food platting and setting up airline catering trays.
- Read, understand and follow menu specifications.
- Keep kitchen areas clean and tidy.
- Comply with hygiene, quality and safety standards at all times.
