About The Position

The Kitchen Helper prepares food and serves customers in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The role follows production schedules and recipes, maintains food quality and safety, operates and cleans kitchen equipment, and provides efficient, friendly customer service. This position is based at the Apache site in Anchorage, Alaska, and follows a rotating schedule of four weeks on and two weeks off; days and hours may vary. Previous remote camp work experience is required. The fixed pay rate is $17.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Previous remote camp work experience required.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Obtain daily production schedules and preparation requirements from the Chef.
• Prepare items on production sheets in accordance with established quantities and recipes.
• Complete daily production worksheets and waste log sheets, and taste completed meals to ensure quality.
• Operate and clean equipment according to department procedures after each use.
• Store, label, and date food items according to policy; follow HACCP guidelines.
• Complete required documentation, reports, and logs.
• Comply with applicable health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Take customer orders and prepare items requiring short preparation time.
• Serve customers efficiently and in a friendly manner.
• Complete orders from steam tables and grills and serve customers at multiple stations.
• Use approved recipes and production standards to maintain food quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
• Resolve customer concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
