About The Position

The Kitchen Expeditor ensures service staff and guests receive the highest quality food and dining experience. This role involves making sure orders are prepared and garnished, and delivered at the appropriate hot or cold temperature, ensuring all menu items are served. The Kitchen Expeditor will report to the Chef De Cuisine.

Requirements

  • Ability to verbalize and respond to Team Members and Managers
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
  • Prior Full Service Casual Dining experience.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of food safety practices.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to our unique restaurant culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a similar expeditor role is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of culinary terms and basic kitchen operations.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and expedite orders, ensuring timely delivery to guests.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to manage order flow.
  • Monitor and maintain a clean and organized expediting station.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared according to high standards.
  • Assist in resolving any service-related issues promptly.
  • Provide excellent customer service and address guest inquiries.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to optimize efficiency.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Read kitchen tickets or kitchen display orders correctly to ensure that all orders are complete.
  • Inspect food orders to ensure orders are prepared to company standards and specifications, including garnishing food with appropriate accompanying items.
  • Prioritize and make quick decisions to build food orders and ensure prepared food is flowing out of the kitchen within appropriate timelines.
  • Have proficient knowledge of the menu to explain the offerings to service staff and guests and answer any questions.
  • Communicate with the kitchen (BOH), service staff (FOH), managers, and other employees regarding cook times, potential problems, and other issues, in a calm and effective manner.
  • Clean and sanitize work area throughout the shift.
  • Complete assigned responsibilities to set up, maintain, and breakdown the pass-thru station thoroughly every day.
  • Follow all company safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.
