Purpose of Classification: The purpose of this classification is to be responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen (dishes, pots and pans, stock, floor, trash). Essential Functions: The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. Checks in food deliveries and puts away in correct storage space. Breaks down boxes and disposes of properly. Washes dishes, etc. Operates and maintains dish machine. Washes and sanitizes pots and pans in three-compartment sink. Sweeps floor, mops spills. Thoroughly mops floors at the end of the day. Uses floor scrubber monthly or as needed. Empties and cleans all kitchen trash cans daily. Maintains cleanliness of walls, windows, cooler and freezer. Performs general cleaning assignments. Handles cleaning chemicals properly according to directions. Attends monthly meetings as scheduled by the Nutrition Coordinator. Attends nutrition in services as available, and as needed. Readily accepts assignments to assist cook or driver with the preparation and/or transport of meals.
