About The Position
In full uniform and under the supervision of the Chef/Kitchen Manager, Assistant Cook, or Senior Center Director, the Kitchen Aide assists in food preparation, food service, customer service, packaging, and cleanup.
Requirements
- Possess basic kitchen knowledge.
- Customer service experience.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to stand for your shift.
- Ability to read and speak English.
- Must have or willing to obtain NYC Food Protection Certificate.
- Documentation of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Assists in food preparation, food service, customer service, packaging, and cleanup.
- Promoting appropriate customer service to seniors, guests and staff.
- Maintaining order of food areas.
- Cleaning dining room, kitchen (including cupboards, shelves, racks, work surfaces, cooking equipment, dishes, and utensils).
- Clean large and small appliances, equipment, and storage areas.
- Operation of the dishwasher machine (In/Before food service at lunch time washing pots, pans, any build-up at the dirty dishware area; storing them in a clean, sanitary and orderly manner).
- Perform other related tasks at the direction of the kitchen manager/chef or senior center director.
