About The Position

The Kitchen Administrative Assistant serves as the primary support to the Food Service Manager, ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen and maintaining the manager's organization, accountability, and adherence to deadlines. This role also provides backup coverage for the Kitchen 1 Assistant and Kitchen Logistics Assistant to guarantee continuous operational coverage. Every meal and interaction is a reflection of the ministry's mission, emphasizing faithful stewardship, teamwork, and reliability as key measures of success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficient with Apple applications (Pages, Numbers, Keynote), Google Workspace, Notion, Canva, and other common office technologies.
  • Ability to prepare reports, create task lists, follow instructions, and interpret vendor contracts.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record required.
  • Comfortable working in a busy, public-facing environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Physically capable of lifting and transporting up to 50 lbs independently, and handling heavier loads with appropriate assistive equipment or team assistance.
  • Ability to safely operate a pallet jack.
  • Humble, approachable, and servant-hearted with professional maturity and integrity.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and an effective problem solver.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of commercial or professional kitchen experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a faith-based organization preferred.
  • Food Handler's Certification, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Food Service Manager's calendar by scheduling meetings, coordinating appointments, and providing timely reminders.
  • Proactively schedule recurring meetings, maintenance, checks, and ministry deadlines to prevent conflicts.
  • Maintain organized administrative systems, records, and documentation.
  • Assist with inventory management, including monitoring supplies, preparing purchase requests, and maintaining organized food storage areas.
  • Receive, organize, and steward food donations.
  • Provide administrative, logistical, and operational support to the Food Services team, adapting to changing priorities.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, volunteers, vendors, and other departments.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process and efficiency improvements.
  • Assist with kitchen, logistics, and administrative responsibilities as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Demonstrate dependable attendance, punctuality, and timely completion of responsibilities.
  • Model a servant-hearted attitude with humility, excellence, and commitment to the ministry's mission.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
