Adjunct - AY27 Kinesiology Instructor
About The Position
The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is seeking dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate students in Kinesiology. This posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants for the 2027 Academic School Year. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate, and work professionally with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified applicants may be offered an interview with Departmental members at one or more of LACCD’s 9 colleges. Final determination of part-time Kinesiology Instructor assignment is contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in kinesiology, physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education; OR Bachelor’s degree in any of the above AND Master’s degree in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy; OR the equivalent.
- A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have an approved exemption.

- Demonstrated certification in Blackboard, Canvas or Course Compass or other online modalities.
Responsibilities
- Teach any of the Kinesiology Courses discipline, promoting engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning.
- Be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members who span a diverse range of languages, nationalities and ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities and educational experiences.
- Conduct classes in a virtual learning environment using Canvas or other methods of remote learning, if required.

- Salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $86.85 per standard hour.
- Office hour differential of $20.99 per hour for classroom assignments.
- Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
