About The Position

Join a dynamic and growing School dedicated to preparing future health, fitness, and sport professionals. This in-person, nine-month, non-tenure-track Instructor position, based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, begins in Fall 2027 and provides the opportunity to teach undergraduate students, mentor future practitioners, and collaborate with colleagues in support of academic and professional excellence. We seek a candidate who is passionate about teaching, mentoring students, and contributing to curriculum delivery, program development, and student success across the School's academic programs. The School of Kinesiology and Nutrition serves more than 600 students and includes 27 faculty and staff. With five undergraduate programs, three master's programs, an active doctoral program, and state-of-the-art research and teaching facilities, the School offers a collaborative environment that supports excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

Requirements

  • Earned master’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Nutrition or related field.
  • Experience in ONLINE delivery systems like CANVAS.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with students, staff, and faculty from diverse backgrounds, programs, and colleges.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional work experience (sport coach, strength & conditioning coach, dietician, etc.)
  • Licensure and/or professional certifications (e.g., CSCS, ACSM, RDN, or equivalent).
  • Experience in developing and delivering online courses and curriculum at the College level.
  • Experience establishing and managing external affiliations and supervising/mentoring students.
