About The Position

The Department of Kinesiology is seeking qualified applicants for an adjunct position within one of its content areas, including Exercise Science, Health Science, Health & Physical Education, and/or Sport Management and Leadership. The University of New Hampshire is an R1 Carnegie classification research institution providing comprehensive, high-quality undergraduate and graduate programs of distinction. UNH is located in Durham on a 188-acre campus, 60 miles north of Boston and 8 miles from the Atlantic coast and is convenient to New Hampshire’s lakes and mountains. There is a student enrollment of 13,000 students, with a full-time faculty of over 600, offering 90 undergraduate and more than 70 graduate programs. Requirements

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Health Science, Health & Physical Education, Sport Management & Leadership, or a closely related field from a recognized college or university.
  • At least one year of teaching experience
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to establish a rapport with students and maintain an environment that supports learning.
  • All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of students at the University of New Hampshire.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver in-person lectures
  • Present course content, guiding student learning, and fostering an engaging classroom environment.
  • Utilize provided course materials and collaborate with program faculty as needed to ensure continuity of instruction.
  • Evaluate student work in a timely manner, including exams, and assignments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Communicate expectations clearly.
  • Provide feedback to support learning.
  • Hold limited office hours or availability as needed
  • Coordinate with program leadership regarding course progress and any student concerns.
