About The Position
Momentum Health empowers patients through the delivery of collaborative healthcare. Join us as we guide Albertans through evidence-informed multidisciplinary care (including Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Massage Therapy, Kinesiology, Athletic Therapy, Physiatry and Sport Medicine). Our multidisciplinary clinic has several exam rooms and a dedicated gym and rehab area. We have a large referral base from family medicine and allied health professionals throughout the Calgary area. The clinic offers innovative programs such as GLA:D Back, Hip & Knee, Shoulder and Concussion Programs. Exceptional patient service, collaborative care and continued growth and improvement are highly valued at Momentum Health. We are presently seeking a Part-Time enthusiastic Kinesiologist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate must be able to commit to at least a one-year term. Whether you are choosing Kinesiology as a career path or planning on becoming a Physiotherapist, Chiropractor or another healthcare professional, we encourage you to apply. In fact, over 31 Kinesiologists have been accepted into programs after being employed with Momentum Health over the years.
Requirements
- Degree in Kinesiology
- Excellent knowledge of anatomy and physiology
Nice To Haves
- Interest in Vestibular Therapy is an asset
- Previous volunteer or work experience in a Physiotherapy or Multidisciplinary clinic an asset
Responsibilities
- Prescription, application, supervision and education of patient’s Therapeutic Exercise Programs including: AROM, PROM, stretching, proprioception, coordination, balance and strengthening
- Assist Physiotherapy assessments and re-evaluations
- Learn and administer several hands-on treatment techniques including basic trigger point release, MRT, Instrumented Soft Tissue Release, Friction massage and hold relax stretching
- Application and removal of modalities including heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS, IFC, micro-current and Muscle Stimulation
- Assisting with clinic up-keep such as laundry, cleaning patient beds, filling ultrasound gel, and cleaning machines and tools
- Greet patients and ensure they have a comfortable experience in the clinic
