About The Position

St. John Catholic School, located at 321 N. Market Street in Logan, is seeking a Kindergarten Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. The primary goal of this position is to assist students in mastering the skills and information in the school curriculum while helping them to grow in faith and responsibility. Teachers in the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Columbus are expected to contribute to the integration of Catholic teachings and virtues throughout the curriculum and school culture, support faith formation and student learning, understand student learning and development while respecting diversity, know and understand the content they teach, use varied assessments to inform instruction and evaluate student learning, plan and deliver effective instruction, create Christ-centered learning environments that promote high levels of learning and achievement, collaborate and communicate with students, parents, other educators, administrators, and the faith community, and assume responsibility for their professional academic/spiritual growth, performance, and involvement.

Requirements

Hold an appropriate Ohio Teaching License (Professional, Permanent, or Resident Educator) or be eligible to obtain one before beginning to teach.
Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks.
Have attended or be willing to attend a Virtus Protecting God's Children training.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Appropriate state certification/license as required by the grade levels and subjects taught.
Religious Education certification as required by the diocese.
