About The Position

Baptist Search Partners is partnering with First City Church to find their next Kids Pastor/Director. This role (for children aged 5K-5th grade) is a key leadership position focused on supporting the church's vision to reach the next generation. The individual will lead Kids Ministry at the Alpharetta location and provide vision and coaching for Kids Ministry staff at other locations. The ideal candidate is an experienced Children's Ministry leader with an engaging and joyful style, a passion for leading children to Christ, a commitment to their discipleship, and a desire to connect with elementary-aged children and their families within the community and on school campuses. First City Church is a biblically faithful, gospel-sharing, relationally driven, and community-engaged church that is experiencing revitalization and growth. Their mission is to lead people to Know Jesus, Discover Hope, Experience Family, and Live Sent. The church has launched a "Multiply" initiative to support campus expansion, new services, church planting, and evangelism. Staff and volunteers work together to transform lives and spread the gospel.

Responsibilities

  • Create and lead ministry that facilitates children following Jesus and growing as his disciples
  • Provide primary leadership at the Alpharetta location for all Kids Ministry groups, activities, and events, including curriculum selection and leading kids' worship and teaching.
  • Ensure consistency in Kids Ministry programming, curricula, volunteer expectations, safety procedures, and ministry values across all assigned campuses.
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and coordinate volunteer leadership.
  • Maintain and regularly review ministry processes, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Meet with parents and children as necessary for spiritual encouragement and baptism conversations.
  • Send cards, texts, make calls, and visit hospitals to care for children and their families.
  • Oversee and implement events such as monthly Big Wednesday, VBS, camps, and other fellowship and outreach events.
