Kids Ministry Director
About The Position
The Kids Ministry Director oversees the vision and programming for children from nursery through elementary age. The role focuses on creating a safe, joyful environment where children encounter Jesus and equipping parents as primary disciple-makers. The director oversees curriculum development, leads childcare staff, and creates events such as VBS to engage new families. The director will recruit and empower a multi-generational team, including OSU college students, young parents, and grandparents; 50–60% of volunteers are college students. The position emphasizes walking alongside parents and equipping them to disciple their children at home. It also offers room to design creative seasonal programming and VBS to reach unchurched families in Stillwater, in close collaboration with staff and ministry leaders.
Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee weekly programming for children from nursery through elementary age.
- Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers and childcare staff.
- Develop age-appropriate curriculum and activities that point children toward Jesus.
- Ensure safety and security policies are followed in all children’s spaces.
- Coordinate and innovate special events, including VBS and holiday programming, to support children’s discipleship and reach new families.
- Support and equip parents as the primary disciple-makers in their homes.
- Partner with other ministry leaders and staff to support the wider church mission.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
