About The Position

The Kids Dance Teacher leads engaging dance classes for students in grades K–5 at elementary schools across the Bay Area. The teacher creates a fun, supportive environment where children can learn, express themselves, and develop an appreciation for dance. Classes serve groups of 8–16 students aged 5–10 and run for 1–1.5 hours, starting between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Teachers work two or more days per week, for a maximum of 2–5 hours weekly. The role requires local U.S. residence or a valid work visa; visa assistance is not provided.

Requirements

• Must be at least 19 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enjoy working with children and have effective classroom management skills.
• Flexibility, reliability, punctuality, and a professional, enthusiastic approach.
• Strong communication skills and a resilient, positive attitude.
• Reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula.
• Willingness to undergo a background check and be fully vaccinated.
• Must be local to the U.S. or possess a valid work visa; visa assistance is not provided.

Nice To Haves

• Previous dance teaching or performing experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and energize classes of 8–16 students aged 5–10.
• Teach dance forms tailored to elementary school children.
• Attend up to two days of unpaid training or shadowing to learn the program.
• Transport and set up equipment needed for each class.
• Take attendance and manage student sign-in and sign-out procedures.
• Communicate with parents and school staff as needed.
• Provide constructive feedback on students’ progress.
• Take photos of children participating in dance sessions.
