About The Position

The Kids Creative Dance Leader will lead engaging after-school dance classes for students in grades K–5 at elementary schools across the Bay Area. The role involves creating a fun, supportive environment where children can learn, express themselves, and develop an appreciation for dance and the arts. Classes are for groups of 8–16 students ages 5–10 and run for 1–1.5 hours, starting between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Leaders work two or more days per week, for a maximum of 2–5 hours weekly. The role requires reliable transportation to schools across the East and South Bay and Peninsula. Candidates must be local to the US or hold a valid working visa; visa assistance is not provided.

Requirements

Must be at least 19 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Enjoy working with children and have effective classroom management skills.
Be flexible, reliable, punctual, professional, and enthusiastic.
Have strong communication skills and a resilient, positive attitude.
Have reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula.
Be local to the US or possess a valid working visa; visa assistance is not provided.

Nice To Haves

Previous teaching or performing experience in dance.

Responsibilities

Manage classes of 8–16 students ages 5–10.
Teach dance forms tailored to elementary school children.
Attend up to two days of unpaid training or shadowing to become familiar with the program.
Transport and set up necessary equipment for each class.
Take attendance and manage student sign-in and sign-out procedures.
Communicate with parents and school staff as needed.
Provide constructive feedback on each student's progress.
Take photos of children during sessions.
