The Kid Zone Staff will be responsible for providing friendly and courteous service to all members and clients of the Old Colony Y. This role contributes to a positive work environment by illustrating pride in the job, enthusiasm, and cooperation with co-workers. The staff member will ensure KidZone is following Old Colony YMCA monthly themes and enthusiastically representing the monthly Association project. KidZone is intended to be a medium for purposeful communication with participants regarding program, membership, and event priorities, and the staff will work to connect KidZone families to opportunities that best fit their needs. The primary responsibility is to supervise children in a healthy, safe environment, ensuring they participate in fun and constructive activities, while maintaining appropriate behavior management in accordance with the Old Colony Y Child Care Policy. Accurate daily attendance records must be kept, and sign-in/out policies must be enforced. Understanding and participating in branch Emergency Procedures and maintaining safety at all times, including accurate registration records, is crucial. All accidents and incidents must be reported immediately to the supervisor, branch leadership on duty, and via Logic Manager. Staff are expected to abide by scheduling guidelines, find their own substitutes when absent (more than 2 absences in a month require a meeting with the supervisor), attend required staff meetings, and complete job-related trainings. The role involves actively building the FLY kids Ambassador program and acting as a role model and mentor to FLY kids. Collaboration with fellow KidZone staff is essential for supervising children from all angles, actively discussing and minimizing potential blind spots. The role also includes responsibility for obtaining necessary information and collecting fees from program participants (non-members), submitting the money to member service staff, and ensuring attending participants are cross-checked to confirm they are active household members. The staff member will ensure a safe and secure environment, maintain high standards of cleanliness for the floor, walls, tables, chairs, and program equipment, inform the Supervisor of all program equipment needs, and adhere to proper opening and closing procedures. Miscellaneous Member Engagement Duties, such as surveys, engagement around programs and services, phone calls, and filing, may be performed when minimal children are present.
