About The Position
The Arena District Athletic Club is looking for dependable, professional, and energetic individuals to join our team as Kickball Umpires for the 2026 season. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys sports, working outdoors, and helping create a fun and organized league experience for participants. Kickball games are scheduled on Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, with shifts running from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The season begins April 21, 2026. Umpires are paid $20 per game and also receive a free gym membership as part of the position.
Requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during games
- Dependable and punctual
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods during shifts
Responsibilities
- Officiate kickball games in a fair, consistent, and professional manner
- Enforce league rules and maintain control of gameplay
- Communicate clearly with players, team captains, and league staff
- Assist with pre-game field and equipment set-up
- Help with post-game tear-down and clean-up
- Ensure games begin on time and run smoothly throughout the evening
- Promote a positive, recreational, and sportsmanlike atmosphere
