🌎 KiCad PCB Design Specialist, Remote- Contract
About The Position
The KiCad PCB Design Specialist will use KiCad to complete real-world PCB design and electronic circuit tasks, then explain workflows step by step. The work will help improve how AI systems understand electronics engineering. The role involves creating and modifying PCB designs and circuit schematics, working with component placement, PCB routing, and multi-layer boards, performing design rule checks and troubleshooting design issues, and generating Gerber files and other manufacturing outputs. The specialist will also complete advanced KiCad tasks and create clear instructions and detailed prompts for PCB design workflows.
Requirements
- Strong professional hands-on experience using KiCad.
- Experience with PCB layout, schematic capture, and electronic circuit design.
- Good understanding of component placement, routing, and PCB design rules.
- Ability to create and review complex PCB designs.
- Access to KiCad and ability to record a screen while completing tasks.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
- Ability to explain technical workflows clearly.
Nice To Haves
- A relevant master's degree or PhD in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- Previous Human Data experience, such as data annotation, RLHF, or AI model evaluation.
- Experience with multi-layer PCB design and manufacturing processes.
- Professional experience in electronics or hardware engineering.
