About The Position

The Key Carrier role is an elevated extension of the Coordinator role. Key Carriers alternate responsibilities according to store needs, predominantly performing Coordinator duties and occasionally acting as Key Carrier, taking on a leadership role in maintaining all aspects of the store. Key Carriers must have open availability, including nights and weekends, and role-model exceptional customer service. The role creates positive internal and external customer experiences, promotes honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality, and acts as Manager on Duty in accordance with company policy and procedure. It ensures that store teams follow the store plan and operational procedures, maintains accurate Associate coverage in service areas, and ensures that opening and closing procedures follow company guidelines. The Key Carrier addresses immediate customer service issues, uses discretion to satisfy customers, and provides coaching, feedback, and recognition to Associates. The role also communicates priorities and progress to management and Associates, partners with Management on training needs, promotes credit and loyalty programs, supports shrink reduction and safety efforts, and ensures adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures. Other duties may be assigned. The position is at TJ Maxx Store 0781 in Plaistow, New Hampshire. The starting pay range is USD $17.50 to $18.00 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. Benefits are subject to applicable plan terms and may change.

Requirements

Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends; open availability is required.

At least 1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Act as Manager on Duty in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Ensure the store team performs tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Address immediate customer service issues, provide appropriate coaching to Associates, and use discretion regarding customer service policies to satisfy customers.
Maintain accurate Associate coverage in service areas.
Ensure Associates follow operational procedures and opening and closing procedures are carried out according to company guidelines.
Communicate priorities and progress accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback; provide feedback, recognition, and coaching to Associates.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in shrink reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
