About The Position

Our client has a vacancy for a Key Accounts Manager (Remote) for a permanent role, based in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role is customer-facing which involves customer visits and office-based responsibilities. Extended working hours may be necessary during peak periods. Compliance with all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), if required. High degree of confidentiality is required at all times. The role is remote, however the candidates must be based around Cape Town as the role involves engagement with customers and stakeholders in the region.

Requirements

Grade 12/Matric
Diploma/degree in Marketing, Business Management, or a related field.
6+ years of experience in the sales department of a food industry.
At least 6 - 8 years of technical sales experience in the food / manufacturing industry.
Demonstrated ability to manage and grow strategic customer relationships
Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and multitask effectively.
Excellent in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Detail-oriented, with strong accuracy in managing documentation, tracking sales, and monitoring customer feedback.
Ability to work independently (remote) and as part of a team, showing initiative and reliability.
Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to demonstrate value to the customer.
Candidates must be based around Cape Town.

Nice To Haves

BSc/HND in Food/Culinary Science, or a related field (advantage).

Responsibilities

Maintain existing customer base, monitor sales margin and opportunities in customer’s portfolio.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and monitor market trends in the food and non-food industries.
Visiting customers to address any concerns or opportunities.
Monitor customer order patterns and provide feedback to customers on their performance.
Collaborate with the Marketing Manager on new product developments.
Do budgeting by monitoring monthly performance against set sales targets.
Stay informed about the Customer’s products, services, and relevant industry developments.
Maintain overall Company profitability through effective account management, including debtors.
Ensure retention of key accounts through proactive and consistent client engagement.
Conduct market research and data analysis to identify customer’s current product growth opportunities.
Ensure that annual and ad-hoc price adjustments are fully implemented across your portfolio.
Ensure timely execution and delivery of approved marketing plans to achieve the Company’s objective.
Provide the Business Development Manager with weekly/monthly reports on your portfolio.
