About The Position

The Key Account Manager – Oncology is a field-based role with high performance expectations. This position is accountable for driving sustained territory growth, shaping the treatment landscape in Multiple Myeloma, and positioning Sanofi as a long-term strategic partner in the evolving oncology ecosystem. Success in this role requires deep disease knowledge, strong commercial rigor, and the ability to lead complex, cross-functional engagement across multiple stakeholder groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Science, Business, or related field).
  • 5+ years of specialty pharmaceutical sales experience (Oncology or Hematology strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated track record of high performance in complex, specialist-driven markets.
  • Deep understanding of Hematology/Oncology, including treatment landscapes, patient journeys, and market access.
  • Experience working with institutional accounts, reimbursement processes, and formulary approvals.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret market data and translate insights into action.
  • Proven excellence in consultative, value-based selling and account strategy execution.
  • Ability to influence without authority and lead through collaboration across matrixed teams.
  • Advanced communication skills: clear, compelling, and credible with senior clinical stakeholders, with the ability to translate complex clinical information into meaningful conversations.
  • High learning agility with the technical aptitude to master disease state, clinical data, and product complexity.
  • Exceptional planning, prioritization, and territory management skills.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a high-accountability, performance-driven environment.
  • Proficient with CRM systems and digital engagement tools.
  • Fluency in both French and English is required. English proficiency is essential, as the role works closely with colleagues across English‑speaking Canada and involves attending conferences and meetings outside of Quebec.
  • Willing and able to travel ~50% of the time, including national and occasional international travel.
  • Flexibility for evening and weekend work as required by business needs.
  • Eligibility for company vehicle under Sanofi Fleet Program, with required safety training and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently achieve or exceed sales and performance objectives while managing territory resources with financial discipline.
  • Develop, execute, and continuously refine a data-driven territory business plan, incorporating market dynamics, customer insights, and brand strategy.
  • Identify risks and opportunities early; take decisive action to protect and grow business results.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights to inform strategy and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Build and maintain deep, value-based partnerships with Hematologic Oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, and key healthcare professionals.
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact and point of accountability for Sanofi within assigned accounts; orchestrate cross-functional engagement with Marketing, Medical, Patient Support, and other internal partners.
  • Map account decision-making structures and influence pathways; adapt engagement strategies accordingly.
  • Support institutions and key accounts at all levels by guiding formulary and budget approval processes.
  • Lead high-quality scientific exchange aligned with the Product Monograph ensuring ethical and compliant promotion.
  • Clearly articulate the clinical and patient value of Sanofi therapies within evolving Multiple Myeloma treatment paradigms.
  • Educate and train healthcare teams on the clinical benefits, administration, and real-world use of Sanofi therapies.
  • Facilitate peer-to-peer learning between community-based and academic oncologists to optimize Multiple Myeloma treatment pathways.
  • Develop strong local advocacy through trusted, credible engagement.
  • Support regional and national educational programs (e.g., OLAs, learning initiatives, congresses).
  • Maintain a current and accurate territory and account database to inform national planning and execution.
  • Utilize omnichannel and digital tools to enhance customer engagement and drive impactful conversations.
  • Execute all activities in full alignment with Sanofi’s regulatory, legal, and compliance standards.
  • Maintain timely, accurate CRM documentation, call reporting, expense management, and other administrative requirements.
  • Successfully complete all mandatory training and stewardship of company assets.
  • Participate in national and regional meetings, conferences, and training programs.
